Centered on well-developed, highly believable figures who are working scientists, these fine novels are sure to please anyone who appreciates literate, state-of-the-art SF.

Bujold is the Queen of space opera. The Vorkosigan series has it all – at times funny, serious, romantic, action-packed and adventurous. Miles, the main protagonist, has a motto “forward momentum” and he is indeed a force to be reckoned with. Bujold is the only author to have won as many Hugo Awards (Popular Choice) as Robert Heinlein. These are brilliant!

The Forever War
When humans are sent to fight an alien enemy in outer space, time displacement means that, by the time the brave soldiers return home, years will have passed and their heroic efforts will be long forgotten. This trilogy made British SF cool again back in the late 90s. Since then, many have tried, and failed, to imitate it. When a primal evil is unleashed onto the prosperous universe of the 28th century, everything that humankind has worked for will never be the same again. Unbelievably well-planned, this is over-the-top space opera at its best

All hell breaks loose when an alien force is unleashed, determined to wipe out every single last threat in the universe.
