Daytoner: Enslaving Humanity in Style is a complete compilation of the concept art Daniel Hahn created over the past few years under his alias Daytoner, short DTNR.

Robots, mechs and character designs are Daniel's big passions and DTNR, is his outlet and home for this obsession. In this book he pairs his creations with short stories that look back at a possible future. The project started as a small blog in 2012 when Daniel moved to Los Angeles and is a journey through the depths of his unhinged creative mind and the world of his robots.

"Daniel grew up in former East Germany. He started sketching obsessively after the Berlin Wall fell, when he was around 15 years old. He did graffiti in his hometown, together with friends. He mainly spray-painted characters next to somebody else's letters. He didn't know why, but he was always more attracted to figures, faces, and poses. He loved how one can communicate character and attitude through design, without using a single word. After getting hooked on art and creativity, he tried to find a profession which would let him draw for a living. He ended up studying product design to keep sketching. He loved to create robots or human-machine-hybrids, because they combine his attraction to characters and the world of product design perfectly. He can play with the expressions of a person or a face, but he also has surfaces or mechanical details to design.Often, he gets asked what he does this for, what the bigger purpose of all this is. He would say passion. He loves to create and always needed a creative outlet. Daytoner gives him that outlet and the freedom to be able to create whatever he wants, without any restrictions. He considers himself to be his own limitation. No excuses! His motto is: ""You never know what creating art will lead to - just do it! The sky is the limit! If your dreams are not scaring you, they are not big enough."""
