C. Guedes Soares is Professor of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering at the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) and President of the Centre for Marine Technology and Ocean Engineering (CENTEC). He has participated or coordinated numerous international and national research projects in the field of maritime transportation and ports, including the Concerted Action on Short Sea Shipping, INTRASEAS, TOHPIC, TRAPIST, TRESHIP, FLAGSHIP and EFFORTS EU projects.
