A practical resource for clinicians and health professionals managing people with osteoarthritis, gout and other crystal associated arthritis, this book provides up-to-date comprehensive guidance on how to assess, diagnose and optimally manage patients with these common joint diseases.

The Oxford Textbook of Osteoarthritis and Crystal Arthropathy provides full coverage of joint failure, allowing the physician to consider and choose the right blend of treatment from the range available, whether physical, pharmacological, surgical or supportive. Including detailed sections on epidemiology, risk factors, clinical assessment and investigations, significant coverage is also given to patient education and the involvement of the patient in management planning. With critical appraisal of current guidelines and a clear overview of pain physiology, the Oxford Textbook of Osteoarthritis and Crystal Arthropathy brings current understanding of these disorders together into a critical and highly valuable resource. Highly illustrated and in full colour throughout, this essential text is an important tool for rheumatologists and musculoskeletal health professionals. Now including new sections on gout and other crystal arthropathies, this fully updated edition focuses on clinically relevant and easily understood overviews of osteoarthritis.
