Since ancient times, plants serve as a valuable source of traditional herbal medicines. Unlike modern medicines, herbal medicines have consistently demonstrated health advantages, including a lack of serious adverse side effects, long-lasting curative impacts and overall cost-effectiveness. Even today, with various modern pharmaceutical medicines commonly available, plant-based medicines and aromatics are increasingly in demand throughout the health sector globally, where they are used not only for the treatment of disease, but also, preventatively for maintaining good health.

People are seeking alternatives to modern medical treatments turning to phytomedicine for primary health care. Prof. Dr. Mohd Kafeel Ahamd Ansari (MSc, PhD, FCRF, ERF-Australia) Mohd Kafeel Ahmad Ansari earned a PhD degree from the Department of Botany, School of Chemical and Life Sciences, Jamia Hamdard University, New Delhi, India. He is currently serving as an Associate Professor of Biology at the University of Guyana, Georgetown, South America. He received prestigious Endeavour Postdoctoral Research Fellowship from Government of Australia, a Foreign Citizen Research Fellowship from the Government of Turkey, and Dr. D.S. Kothari Research Fellowship Award, Government of India. He has worked as Visiting Scientist at University of South Australia, Adelaide, Australia, in the Department of Biology, Anadolu University, Turkey and at the Department of Biosciences, Jamia Millia Islamia (Central University), New Delhi, India. He was associated with SP University, India as Associate Professor of Botany. Also he served as Australian Awards Ambassador for higher educational institutions of India. He has more than 14 years of experience in plant eco-physiology, plant stress physiology, industrial and environmental biotechnology, industrial microbiology, microbiology, molecular biology, medicinal and aromaticals plant research, plant-microbe-soil interactions as well. He has published over 35 research papers in peer-reviewed international journals, 11 conference proceedings, authored 06 book chapters, co-authored many book chapters, and currently editing 03 books with international publishers, including Springer Nature, and CRC Press (Taylor & Francis Group) etc. He has been engaging with several professional memberships of Europe, Germany, Hong-Kong, Italy, India and USA. Associate Prof. Dr. Bengu Turkyilmaz Unal (MSc, PhD) Dr. Beng� T�rkyılmaz �nal completed her undergraduate, graduate and doctoral degrees at the Ege University, Izmir, Turkey. She worked for 6 years in the Botany Department of the same University and was appointed as Asst. Prof. in the year 2011 at the Department of Organic Agriculture- Ulukisla Vocational School of Nigde Omer Halisdemir University. Since 2015 Dr. Unal is serving as Assoc. Prof. at the Biotechnology Department of the same University. Her scientific interests include; Plant Biotechnology, Plant Stress Physiology, Plant Ecology-Physiology and Organic Agriculture. She has published 65 papers uptill now including 6 book chapters and nearly 25 papers in impact factor journals. Prof. Dr. M�nir �zt�rk (M.Sc., Ph.D., D.Sc., FIAS, FFPAS) Professor Munir Ozturk has earned his PhD in 1971 from the Ege University, Turkey. He did DSc in 1975 from the same university. He became Assit. Prof. in 1971 and then Assoc. Prof. in 1975 and then he was appointed as Full Professor in 1980. He served various prestigious academic positions include Ex-Chairman Botany Department and Founder Director Centre for Environmental Studies, Faculty of Science, Ege University, Izmir, Turkey; Visiting Scientist, ICCBS, Karachi University, Pakistan, Foreign Fellow at the Universiti Putra Malaysia, Malaysia. His fields of Scientific Interest is medicinal & aromatic plants, eco-physiology, management of plant diversity & conservation. He has vast experience in teaching and research more than 55 years. Prof. Dr. Gary Owens (MSc, PhD) Dr. Gary Owens has completed undergraduate, graduate and Doctorate (1996) from the University of Adelaide, Australia. He worked with CSIRO-2001, Australia and CERAR-2003, UniSA, Australia. Dr. Gary also served as Program Director in 2007 at UniSA. Since 2013, Gary has been serving as Group leader of ECG, Future Industries Institute, UniSA, Australia. He has a broad multidisciplinary background with more than 26 years' experience as an active teacher and researcher leading both international and multidisciplinary research projects touching all facets of plant science, environmental science and engineering. His research focus is on medicine plants, engineered nanomaterials, plant stress physiology, phytoremediation and heavy metal bioavailability, speciation and computer modeling. Dr. Gary has published 147 research papers in peer reviewed international journals on plant stress physilogy, phytoremediation, and cyanobacterial laccase. He is member of royal Australian chemical institute, The Australian nanotechnology network. He is reviewer of many international scientific journals worldwide.
