The Mouse That Spins
01 September 2002
The book argues that polarised, dualistic thinking is a driving force behind intolerance, prejudice, domestic strife, social turmoil and world conflict. People have long understood this and have long pleaded for unity - either a return to a previous one-ness or an advance towards a higher synthesis. But in so doing they have simply taken sides in a new polarity - Duality versus Unity. This book suggests an alternative, a genuine solution. It asks what would happen if we thought in threes as naturally as we think in twos? If, in place of a God/Devil duality we were brought up with a God/Devil/Trickster trinity? This solution is explored in depth - as a philosophy, as a psychology, and as a practical way to heal the divisions in society and our selves. It is a course in practical mind-alchemy, a dance to freedom with suggestions for further work.

Reviews for The Good the Bad the Funny: De Arcano Nostrae Sanctissimae Mirabilisque Trinitatis, Eius Potestate Sanandi Et Redimendi Vim Statistis

Change the way you think The Good, the Bad, the Funny is an entertaining and thought-provoking look into the ways we use logic, and an attempt to change the way we think. While it deals with some rather abstract issues, authour Ramsey Dukes manages to write in a very clear and humourous style which makes for a very engaging read... I found myself thinking over the book throughout the day, while I waited to get back into reading it. Changing the way we think is an incredible task, and fortunately this book is so good that I will be happy to reread it several times, and take the effort to implement it into my way of thinking. This may take patience and effort, and may lead to long-lasting changes... if none of this is appealing, fortunately the book is an excellent read and provides page after page of amusement.
