Our search has the following Google-type functionality:
If you use '+' at the start of a word, that word will be present in the search results.
eg. Harry +Potter
Search results will contain 'Potter'.
If you use '-' at the start of a word, that word will be absent in the search results.
eg. Harry -Potter
Search results will not contain 'Potter'.
If you use 'AND' between 2 words, then both those words will be present in the search results.
eg. Harry AND Potter
Search results will contain both 'Harry' and 'Potter'.
If you use 'OR' between 2 words, then either or both of those words will be present in the search results.
eg. 'Harry OR Potter'
Search results will contain just 'Harry', or just 'Potter', or both 'Harry' and 'Potter'.
If you use 'NOT' before a word, that word will be absent in the search results. (This is the same as using the minus symbol).
eg. 'Harry NOT Potter'
Search results will not contain 'Potter'.
If you use double quotation marks around words, those words will be present in that order.
eg. "Harry Potter"
Search results will contain 'Harry Potter', but not 'Potter Harry'.
If you use '*' in a word, it performs a wildcard search, as it signifies any number of characters. (Searches cannot start with a wildcard).
Search results will contain words starting with 'Pot' and ending in 'er', such as 'Potter'.
Items displayed as "In stock. Ready to ship"
These items are taken from our shop shelves and dispatched within one business day. This availability information is not always 100% accurate as the item may have been sold out subsequent to the latest web update.

Orders placed on weekends, after hours or public holidays are processed on the next business day. Once we lodge items with Australia Post, we accept no responsibility for lost or delayed packages, however we will endeavour to track your order where possible. If your delivery is delayed, please contact your local Australia Post office. If you are unable to locate the shipment, please contact us.
Items displayed as "We can order this in for you"
Items are generally received from our suppliers within 7 to 10 days.
If it looks like your books will not get here within 7 to 10 days, we will let you know as soon as possible before going ahead with your order.
By placing an order online, you agree not to hold Galaxy Bookshop liable for any loss or damage directly or indirectly arising out of, or in connection with, any delay or failure to deliver within our estimated delivery timeframes.
All prices are in Australian Dollars and include Goods and Services Tax (GST).

We do not accept cash for online payments and we accept no responsibility for the theft, loss or non-delivery of mailed cash.
Credit cards are charged when your books are dispatched so there may be a delay in charging your credit card if your order is for books that are not in stock.
Pick Up and Pay In-store
This option is not available for all titles. We will contact you when processing your order to advise you if this is the case.
$6.50 delivery charge per order, regardless of how many items are ordered.
This charge applies to each delivery address.
All consolidated backorders are sent freight-free.
Orders are sent via Australia Post.

Consolidation of orders for multiple items
In-stock items are dispatched within one business day.
Any items that need to be ordered from our supplier are consolidated here and dispatched as one shipment once we have received them all. If we expect, or become aware of, any undue delays, we will dispatch the available items, then dispatch the delayed items when they arrive.
Consolidated items are sent freight-free. If you wish to have any consolidated items released earlier - for an additional $6.50 delivery charge within Australia - please contact us.
Incorrect or damaged items
Can be returned within 60 days for replacement or a full refund of your purchase price (including any shipping costs).
Change of mind returns
We may at our discretion issue a credit note for items returned in mint condition within 14 days. Please contact us first to obtain approval.

Libraries and Schools
Libraries and schools can also order from the Galaxy website. We appreciate the support that these customers show by buying from us and supporting independent bookselling. To open an account with Galaxy, or for more information, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Gift-wrapping is available for $1 per book. You have the option to add a free gift tag and include your message to the recipient.

If an order is shipped to a delivery address outside of Australia, GST is not charged.
We do not accept cheques drawn on bank accounts that are not within Australia.
Please be aware that the customs authorities of your destination country may impose import duties or taxes. These additional costs remain outside our control and responsibility. You may like to use this guide from Australia Post to assist your understanding of whether any additional costs are likely to be charged on your shipment.
