Search Tips
Our search has the following Google-type functionality:
+ (addition symbol)
If you use '+' at the start of a word, that word will be present in the search results.
eg. Harry +Potter
Search results will contain 'Potter'.
- (minus symbol)
If you use '-' at the start of a word, that word will be absent in the search results.
eg. Harry -Potter
Search results will not contain 'Potter'.
AND
If you use 'AND' between 2 words, then both those words will be present in the search results.
eg. Harry AND Potter
Search results will contain both 'Harry' and 'Potter'.
OR
If you use 'OR' between 2 words, then either or both of those words will be present in the search results.
eg. 'Harry OR Potter'
Search results will contain just 'Harry', or just 'Potter', or both 'Harry' and 'Potter'.
NOT
If you use 'NOT' before a word, that word will be absent in the search results. (This is the same as using the minus symbol).
eg. 'Harry NOT Potter'
Search results will not contain 'Potter'.
" " (double quotation marks)
If you use double quotation marks around words, those words will be present in that order.
eg. "Harry Potter"
Search results will contain 'Harry Potter', but not 'Potter Harry'.
* (asterisk)
If you use '*' in a word, it performs a wildcard search, as it signifies any number of characters. (Searches cannot start with a wildcard).
eg. 'Pot*er'
Search results will contain words starting with 'Pot' and ending in 'er', such as 'Potter'.

About Galaxy Bookshop
Galaxy carries an extensive range of Science Fiction, Fantasy, Paranormal Romance, Horror and Game Worlds books, as well as Pop Culture. We also have a wide range of books and merchandise focusing on genre-related film and TV, including Star Wars, Star Trek and Dr Who, to name just a few. We airfreight weekly from overseas and source books from small publishers worldwide, so we often have books that you will never have seen before in Australia!
Our Location
Located on level 1 above Abbey's Bookshop at 131 York Street, in the Sydney CBD, just a couple of minutes' walk from the Town Hall and Town Hall railway station, through which every suburban train passes, Galaxy is close to bus stops servicing a number of North Shore, Northern Beaches, Inner West and North-west destinations and just a short walk to Eastern and Southern services.
Our People
Our staff are all keen readers and are committed to providing customers with the best possible advice and service. We love to help customers find just the thing they are looking for, and we are accustomed to answering those "I read a book with a purple cover" questions! If we don't have the title that you are after (and it's still in print), we'll order it for you and airfreight it at no extra cost.
